GLENN HUGHES: Bochum Footage Posted Online

Fan-filmed video footage of legendary vocalist/bassist Glenn Hughes (DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH) performing the DEEP PURPLE classic "Burn" on May 15, 2008 at Zeche in Bochum Germany can be viewed below (courtesy of Markus van Hall).

In other news, Hughes has issued the following update from the road:

"Every day is a new day... another vital experience.

"I am blown away at seein' the young faces in the audience... It shows me that I have made some good choices in my musical direction... Listenin' to fans after the shows and what their take is on the new setist has really opened the floodgates to move forward. After all, being a solo artist does come with its advantages, now having a larger selection of material to choose from is paramount to my vision.

"For those of you who have seen the new show, thanks for the beautiful response. Some of you had not even heard any [songs from Glenn Hughes' new solo album, 'First Underground Nuclear Kitchen (F.U.N.K.)'] until the concert... Hugs to you all for allowin' me to grow... this means the world to me.

"Last night in Budapest, there were many new fans who were not DEEP PURPLE fans, they are Glenn Hughes solo all the way. It is so refreshing to know that you are out there, you give me so much to look forward to.

"In life we must be free... Some of us don't let go. I want for nothin' other than to be centered, and have a conscious contact with my Higher Power... With this, anything is possible.... The universe is waitin'.

"It aint no fake, it's a way of livin'."

"First Underground Nuclear Kitchen (F.U.N.K.)" was released earlier in the month via Frontiers Records.

Produced by Glenn in Los Angeles, after countless hours spent writing in his home studio, "F.U.N.K." is another magnificent statement from the "Voice of Rock." "It is a roots album, it is a true account of my musical heritage but also fearless and multi-dimensional," said Hughes.

Once again all drums on the record were played by none other than the great Chad Smith of the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS, while Luis Maldonado took care of the majority of the guitars (JJ Marsh and George Nastos only appear on two songs each) and Anders Olinder is on keyboards (with Ed Roth guesting on three songs).
